I started playing at age 8 and have since gathered incredible experiences as a musician—ranging from earning a university scholarship and founding an orchestra in my hometown to participating in 2 international tours.
Here are some of the projects, ensembles, and events I've had the privilege of being a part of.
I am a scholarship student at Tecnológico de Monterrey for cultural talent, playing alto, tenor, and soprano saxophone. I provide scholarship service as a representative musician for the university and have also performed with the university chamber orchestra and marching band.
I have taken part in musicals, concerts, ensembles, and many other school-organized events where I have had the pleasure of performing as a soloist on numerous occasions in large venues hosting over 4,000 attendees.
I am currently part of the musician lineup for the Hidalgo Magisterial Folkloric Company, with whom I have had the fortune of collaborating on 2 international tours.
The first tour took place in Taiwan for the "Yilan International Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival" in 2018, one of the largest folklore festivals worldwide.
My second experience was in the United Arab Emirates at the "Sharjah Heritage Days" festival, where we performed our music in the cities of Sharjah and Dubai, and recorded in a recording studio at the University City of Sharjah.
I have been part of several musical bands, but one that left me with incredible experiences was Cóctel Calavera, with whom I performed at various festivals, events, and contests, as well as recording several tracks. Listen to some Cóctel Calavera on SoundCloud.
One of my favorite university events is the Song Festival, where I have regularly enjoyed participating and competing alongside great musicians and composers from my university since day one.
I have been fortunate to receive honorary mentions as one of the best musicians of the festival. Additionally, a track I co-wrote and composed with a university friend won Best Lyrics in the 2018 festival. The saxophone arrangements for every piece I performed were entirely my own.
The Atlixco Chamber Orchestra was a project launched in 2013 aimed at bringing together the finest young musicians in Atlixco to form the city's very first orchestra.
I was one of the founding members of the project where, aside from being a performing musician, I handled roles as manager, arranger, and section leader, among others.
